At this point last year, America was saying goodbye and good riddance to one of the most challenging years (four years I would argue) that we have experienced as a nation. We were hopeful and looking forward to a much less chaotic, frantic, and nerve-wracking year in 2021. We had a newly elected president who believed in democracy, the Constitution, science and vaccines, and that the promise of America belonged to everyone.
Importantly, Joe Biden believed in civility in politics. Most Americans, regardless of party, believed we needed a return to sanity. We needed to be civil to one another…
